The concept for The Faces Group came about as one photographer began to capture images of the vast array of people that he was encountering while travelling through Latin America, not only did this include locals from various regions but that of travellers also.
During the first year photographing different people in different areas it became clear that people and their culture can be defined by their environment and this unquestionably can be seen in their faces. It is through photographing people in their environment that one can gain a better understanding and hopefully embrace the differences and similarities that we all share.
As such, The Faces Group was created as a way of sharing these images and to further this understanding. While the group is still in its infancy, we hope to continue photographing different regions while attracting other like minded photographers and visual artists to contribute.
